Running with Ruff Runners offers a unique experience where you get paid to exercise, while making a difference in the lives of dogs all around Atlanta.  Our runners are held to extremely high standards in order to preserve the safety of our clients’ beloved family members. Applicants will be expected to discuss their knowledge and experience with dogs, as well as demonstrate their stated running abilities.

Responsibilities

As a Ruff Runner, you’ll be expected to:

  • Run with dogs of various sizes and breeds and in all types of weather.

  • Exercise dogs for 30 or 45 minutes while following Ruff Runners safety protocols.

  • Manage client communication for all assigned appointments.

  • Document each visit and report required information to both the client and to Ruff Runners.

  • Interact with clients (both human and canine) according to Ruff Runners policies and standards.

Qualifications

Here’s what we look for in a Ruff Runner:

  • Fitness. This job is for experienced runners only. Runners should be comfortable running at least 3 miles in a 30-minute period.

  • Canine knowledge and experience. Runners should be knowledgeable about canine behavior, specifically related to reading a dog’s mood or level of exertion from their body language. 

  • Communication. Must be able to communicate with clients and managers in a professional manner, including timely responses.

  • Transportation. Runners are expected to provide their own travel to and from each appointment, all of which will start/end at the client’s home.

  • Phone. Must have a smart phone with GPS capabilities

PAY

This is a 1099 contract position and you are paid per completed service. Below is our current pay rate. A “Pack Run” consists of two dogs from different households.
